Arnetta Yvette Mayfield (Netta) went home to be with the Lord and those who have gone on before her on March 20, 2024, and claimed the mansion that God had prepared for her.
Netta was born October 16, 1974, in Chicago, Illinois to the union of the late Roosevelt and Annie Lilian Mayfield. She was the youngest of four
children. Two brothers, Anthony and Greg Mayfield preceded her in death.
Netta enjoyed spending time with her kids and granddaughters. Throughout her entire life, Netta’s main pride and joy were her family. Netta never
lost hope or gave up in any situation she was faced with. If she did you never knew. She’s up in Heaven with her mom, swaying her hip with her
hands raised, as they loved to dance together. She had a crazy and wicked sense of humor. She would make you smile on your worst day.
Netta was a loving mother to her only daughter and best friend, Keyonna and two sons, Gerald (Maine Maine) and Andrew. She was a devoted sister, a caring auntie, and an awesome grandmother.
Netta leaves to cherish her “Precious Memories”: One daughter, Keyonna Hill; two sons, Gerald Hill and Andrew Stewart; two granddaughters,
Ja’riah & Ke’Miah Hill, all of Chicago IL; one sister, Jackie of Gary, Indiana; four brothers, Roosevelt Mayfield Jr. (Linda) of Berwyn IL, Keith Mayfield
(Colette) of Danville IL, Joseph Woodard (Nikki) of Chicago IL and Corvelle Mayfield of Centralia IL; one aunt Hattie, Bourne of Dolton IL; four uncles, John Jones of Calumet City IL, Lee Henry Wriddley of Chicago IL, Brooker T. Mayfield of Florida City FL and Ike Mayfield (Tina) of Myrtle Beach SC;and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Netta leaves behind her best friend since grade school, Johnnetta Smith of Hammond, Indiana, who was always in her corner no matter what.
