Cathy Ann Redmond, affectionately known as Pinki, was born to the union of Rodges and Christine Redmond on
January 10, 1957. She was the fourth oldest child of 16 children.
Pinki was raised in a household of Jehovah's Witnesses. Although she was not baptized, she loved to attend the
celebration of Christ’s Memorial.
Pinki attended Austin High School. She worked a variety of jobs, but Dobbs International at O’Hare Airport was her favorite as she was a supervisor there for many years.
As if everyone didn't know, Pinki was Pinki. She was herself. To everyone that crossed her path, she was feisty, funny and real. Pinki was an avid spade player, she had a green thumb for plants, and she especially loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandbabies.
Sadly, Pinki departed her life on April 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by: Her parents; two siblings, Ronald and Shirley; and her two great-granddaughters, Keshonna and Tiniya.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Her partner of over 23 years, Ricardo Hernandez; her two children,
Ifetaya and Miyoshi (Derrick); her special daughter, Renee; her six grandsons, Keith (Roshonda), De’Aaron, Marvell, Tywan, Qwanell, and Marquis; her one and only grand-daughter, Tikeisha and ten great-grandchildren; 13 siblings, Sheila, Christine (Bruce), Vadal, Rodges ll (Brenda), Valerie (Richard), Brenda (Ruben), Reggie (Gennell), Byron (LaVinia), Bernesia (Tony), Jeremy, Tommie, Temel, and Dontae; her only living paternal aunt, Vadie Wright; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
