Charlene Brown affectionately known as “Mother, Sister and Mrs.” was born October 15, 1941 to E.S. and Gertrude Ratliff in Charleston,Mississippi. To this blessed union nine children were born; seven preceded her in death, including her parents.
Charlene Brown gave her life to Christ at age 12. She truly believed in praising and serving God and encouraged others to do the same. She heldtightly to the 23rd Psalms.
Charlene Brown graduated from Harrington School on the Westside of Chicago. She later went on to attend Nursing School in downtown Chicago and graduated.
Charlene Brown worked for various hospitals and nursing homes through out the state of Illinois. She loved caring for the elderly. She would say her mission is to serve.
Charlene Brown was born into eternity on September 16, 2024 at 9:14 a.m. at Loyola Hospital in Maywood, Illinois. God whispered, “It’s time”, she answered “yes, my Heavenly Father.”
Sitting around the Heavenly Father with Charlene Brown are: Her husband, two grandchildren, her grandparents, and a host of others who awaited her arrival.
Charlene leaves to cherish her memories: Three sons, Pastor Lonzell Brown, Pastor Donald Brown (Velma Denise) and Jamezell Brown (Acacia); one daughter, Ritalila Brown; three grandsons, Marcellus Davion Davidson, Daniel Steele and Damien Steele; four granddaughters, Sharlene White, CeCe Cain, Ashley Brown and Darisha Evans; three great grand-children, Na’sonte (Baby D), Da’lila and Mekhyla; one sister, Christine (Craig Roosevelt); brother-in-law, Robert Brown (Mary); a loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
