Charles Elliotte Satterfield, Sr. was born on August 11, 1945, in Jasper, AL. He was the 10th child of a family of thirteen to the late James Satterfield and the late Julia (Harton) Satterfield of Alabama.

Charles was initially employed at both Prudential and MetLife Insurance Companies before starting his own interior design company, C. Field Interiors, in 1980.
Blessed with a spiritual upbringing, Charles was baptized in 1961 at the age of 15 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He served in various congregations for several decades.
