Dorothy McLaurin

1947 — 2025

Dorothy McLaurin was born on March 10, 1947, to the union of Joseph and Johnnie May Gordon in Mound Bouyer, Mississippi. She grew up in Greenwood and Minter City, MS and moved to Chicago as a young adult. She was the youngest of six siblings.

Dorothy accepted the Lord Jesus as her Personal Savior at a young age, and she was a faithful servant of God, until her health failed her. She was happily married to Watson McLaurin, who preceded her in death. She was the mother of six wonderful children; David, Connie, Christopher, and Antone (Gary and Michel both preceded her in death).

Dorothy worked for ITW for over 30 years before she retired. She was deeply loved and appreciated by all who knew her!

For the last several years she suffered from the disease called Parkinsons. But several days ago, it pleased her Heavenly Father to call her home to be with Him. Now all her suffering is over.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories: Four children, David, Connie, Christopher (Melvina) and Antone. She also leaves four siblings, Josie (Larry), Fannie, Laura and Charles (Mary); five grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
