Dorothy Ann Woodard

Dorothy A. Woodard, affectionately known as “Dottie”, was the fifth of six children born to the union of Edward C. Woodard and Millie L. Woodard on October 13, 1959 in Chicago, IL.

Preceding her in death are: Both parents; one brother, Marvin T. Woodard; and one son, Chase E. Cobbs.

Dorothy graduated from Westinghouse High School of Chicago, IL. She went on to receive her degree in Accounting at Taylor Business Institute. Dorothy was employed at Liquid Carbonic Company. From there she became a District Clerk for the Department of Water Management for 25 years. Dorothy was a loving, caring sweet-heart of a person, everyone loved her. She was always smiling, dancing and bringing laughter to others. She will be truly missed.

Dorothy transitioned to her heavenly home on November 29, 2024.

She leaves to cherish her precious and loving memories: Three sons, Calvin Cobbs Jr., Christopher Cobbs and Centron Cobbs, all of Chicago, IL; one daughter, Channa Cobbs of Chicago, IL; ten grandchildren, Kaliyah, Cavon, Chaniyah, Kamarri, Kyere, Chasey, Cataleya, Christopher Jr., Samyra and Camya, all of Chicago, IL; one sister, Mae (Roscoe) McPherson of Chicago, IL; three brothers, William Woodard, Horace Woodard and Christopher Woodard, all of Chicago, IL; two nephews, Darryl Woodard and Marcus Woodard, both of Chicago, IL; two nieces, Jos’lyn Woodard and Millie Woodard, both of Chicago, IL; and a host of family and friends.
