Gregory Washington

Gregory, affectionately known as Hevy, was born on August 28, 1971, from the union of Annie
Lewis-Washington and Gregory Washington Sr. in Chicago, IL. Gregory (Hevy) joined Faith Life
Church and had an affiliation with Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness since 1983.

Gregory (Hevy) attended John H. Smith and later studied at William Rainey Harper High School.
Gregory (Hevy) held an impressive resume in forklift driving and landscaping, which he loved. Later
in life, he started his own successful security business called "Zero Tolerance" which he operated until
he was called home. Gregory (Hevy) was known throughout Chicago at many of the hottest night
clubs which is where he gained the nickname "Hevy".

Gregory (Hevy) had a vibrant personality and loved to make others laugh. He was a sports fanatic
and loved his Chicago home teams. In his free time, he enjoyed going bowling and playing darts.
Many knew Gregory (Hevy) because of his humorous personality, and he always left you with
a smile.

Gregory (Hevy) met and fell in love with Kari Lewis while working together in 2009. The couple
would be joined in holy matrimony on March 6, 2010. Their love was on full display when together.
Many loved how fashionably dressed the couple was whenever they were out enjoying life together.
Gregory was born into eternity on March 9, 2024. His grandmother, Leola Ogween; father,
Gregory Washington Sr.; grandfather, Walter Lewis; and his mother-in-law, Shelia Lewis, all
preceded him in death.

Gregory leaves to mourn: His devoted wife, Kari Lewis-Washington and their fur baby, Dior; his
loving mother, Annie Lewis-Washington; brothers, Isaac Washington (Tanya) and Aaron Washington
(Tashana); one sister, Kim; one brother-in-law, Jesse Lewis and one sister-in-law Millie Lewis; uncle,
Fredrick Dorsett; niece, Nonye’ and nephew, Aaron Jr. whom he loved dearly; Hevy and Kari are the
godparents to Natejah Scott, Briana Ballard, Taraji Sibley, and Tristan Hunter who they adore.

Gregory’s (Hevy) friends Jake Rule, Aaron Reid and Joshua Terrell will miss their best friend as well.
Gregory (Hevy) will be missed by all whom loved him. He leaves to mourn a host of loved ones and
special friends who were like family. People who have had the luxury of knowing him from his early
school days to his demanding security presence, to the humor and laughs and overflow of love he
gave so effortlessly. Gregory Washington Jr. has made an impact to many and will be sorely missed.
