Jamaul Matthews

Jamaul Robert Matthews, known as “Boo”, entered this life on September 8, 1988, to the proud parents of Robert Lee Matthews and Marolyn Townsend Matthews of Chicago, Illinois.

On September 22, 2024, Boo fell asleep in death.

At a younger age, Boo started a Bible study with one of Jehovah Witnesses and was looking forward to attending a meeting at the Kingdom Hall with his mother. Boo attended McKinley Elementary School and went on to complete his high school years at J Sterling Morton West High School, where he was a starting guard on the mustang basketball team. He earned his diploma in 2007.

Boo held many jobs he was a security guard, and he also worked at Farmer Fridge. Boo landed his dream job at O&K American Corp. where he made a significant impact in his field as a machine operator. He later earned his certification in that field.

Boo was a diehard fan of Green Bay Packer and Los Angeles Laker just like his dad and he had many talents but loved to do foot work dance.

Boo had an outgoing sprit and everyone he encountered fell in love with him, and when Boo said “get in mode”, every one of his cousins and friends knew exactly what that meant. “Lol” Boo had so much love for his family.

Boo loves music and likes to party all night long. He was the only one that didn’t like to go in the house, and Boo use to say “you sleep when you die”

Boo’s father, Robert Lee Matthews and one sister, Kushi preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory: His precious mother, Marolyn Townsend Matthews; his only son, Jamual Robert Matthews Jr.; nine sisters, Nicole, Nena, Monique, Latura, Cicely (all from Chicago, IL), Roberta and Annette (from Texas), and Latrice and Renee (from Milwaukee WI); also two brothers, Robert and Alfred Lee, both of Chicago Illinois; a very special friend, AJ; one lovely companion, (Stank) Starisha; as well as a host of uncles, aunties, nephews, nieces and cousins.
