James Otis McDaniel

James Otis McDaniel was born into Life on August 8, 1959 in Lexington, Mississippi to the parents of Susie Mae Bailey and Thomas Floyd McDaniel.

James was affectionately known as Otis and “JD” by family and friends. James relocated to Chicago at an early age on the Northside and Westside. He attended Chicago public schools, Waller, Spencer, Austin High School, and Malcom X College.

James had a great passion for music, dancing, boxing, and he loved to dress. He was a loyal son, brother, grandfather, uncle, great uncle and friend.

James practiced Islam.

James was employed at Henry Sober Living, Ford Motor Company, Dakota Integrated Systems LLC, Image and Likness Restoration Services.

James was born into Eternity on December 2, 2024.

He leaves to cherish: Five sisters, Rose Anderson, Florence Burrus-Howell, Loretta McDaniel-West, Joyce McDaniel, and Sharon McDaniel; four brothers, Johnny (Veronica) McDaniel, Benjamin McDaniel, Alphonzo McDaniel and Victor McDaniel; one daughter, Kierra Wilson; four granddaughters and one grandson.

He is preceded in death by: Parents, Susie Mae Bailey and Thomas Floyd McDaniel; brother, Floyd McDaniel Jr.; and sister, Flora Mae Alexander.
