Joyce Brown

Joyce A. Brown was born in Merrigold, Mississippi on March 20, 1950 to Mae Bertha Weatherspoon and Percy Brown.

Joyce was a faithful member of Greater First Baptist Church until her health prevented her from attending.

Joyce completed high school in Merrigold, Mississippi. Joyce went on to further her education at Malcolm X College in the Nursing Program.

Joyce was a hard worker. She worked as a teacher’s aide for four years at Anton Dvorak as well as Learn Charter School, until she retired.

Joyce was born into eternity on October 28, 2024. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Augusta Stapleton, William “Bill” Stapleton, Gust Brown, Percy Brown and Wilbert Stapleton.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memories: Her children, Patricia Brown, Loretta Lewis, Otis Lewis, Tony McGhee and Reneta Lewis; her siblings, Eloise Brown, Jeffery Brown and Mary Stapleton; her grandchildren, Darrius Brown, Jasmine Brooks, Chadawn Parker, Talonia Lewis, Clint Ross III and Juwan Conners; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Brown, Alex Parker, Xavier Jackson, Davian Lewis, Maziya Ross and Leiah Smith; and a host of other family and friends.
