Lee Anthony Davis, born on October 18, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, to Anderson Lewis and Annie Davis, peacefully passed away on January 27, 2025. As the fifth of twelve children in a large and loving family, Lee grew up on the West Side of Chicago, particularly in Rockwell Gardens. He attended Grant Elementary School, McKinley Upper Grade School, and later graduated from Richard T. Crane High School.
Lee was a man of simple pleasures who found joy in life’s everyday moments. He had a deep love for sports, especially watching games, and was an avid fan of the TV show Animal Kingdom. He cherished dining out, spending time with family and friends, and immersing himself in his passion for music. Lee was also an enthusiastic card player, admired for his sharp strategic skills and competitive spirit.
On December 3, 2000, Lee married his soulmate, Jacqueline Smith, the love of his life. Together, they created a life filled with deep love, unwavering support, and cherished memories that will live on forever. Lee’s legacy of love continues through his devoted wife, Jacqueline Davis, and his beloved children: Domonique Smith, Tamika Steen, LeeAntwann McCline, and Shavon McCline-Campbell. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Ty, Amir, and Anaya, who brought him immense joy. His kindness, strength, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is also survived by: His loving siblings, Vera Gross, Ella Adams, Victoria Lavallis, Diane Davis, Linda Davis, Bridgette Davis, Ray Davis, and Kelvin Davis.
Lee was deeply cherished by his extended family, including his aunts and uncles, Ruth Jordan, Ruby Davis, Regina Boyd, Cleotha Davis, Buford Georgia, Tyrone Davis, and Jeffrey Davis. In addition, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lee is preceded in death by: His parents, Anderson Lewis and Annie Davis; his daughter, Ashley Davis; and three siblings, Quention Davis, Roy Davis, and Debra Davis.
Lee’s life was a testament to his deep family bonds, his joyful spirit, and his unwavering love of life. He brought laughter, warmth, and kindness to everyone who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Lee. You will always be remembered, loved, and deeply missed.
