Louise Ellen Westmoreland was born on March 5, 1933 in Texarkana, Texas to the late Webber and Alberta Thomas. Louise was the ninth of nine children born into the Thomas family. In 1946, when Louise was thirteen years old, she would leave her hometown of Texarkana, TX to live with her sister Jessie on the southside of Chicago, IL.
Louise accepted Jehovah into her life on June 19, 1975 at Jehovah Witness Hall in Chicago, IL
Louise graduated from Wells High School and later attended Cook County School of Nursing.
Louise met and married the late Henry Westmoreland, Sr. on October 23, 1954 in
Chicago, IL and to this wonderful union two beautiful children were born, Deborah Westmoreland and John Henry Westmoreland, Jr.
Throughout the years, Louise worked many jobs. She was gainfully employed with Montgomery Wards as a billing clerk for many years. She would go on to work with the Chicago Public Schools as a manager at Marshall High School and she retired in 1972. She would later go back into the work force to work with Wabash Jewelers as a diamond setter and retiring in 1982.
Louise loved her family and family get-togethers. She loved to cook and she loved speaking about Jehovah.
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 8:32 a.m. (she passed on her wedding day) at Caltron on Lake, Louise departed. She is preceded in death by: Her husband, John Henry Westmoreland, Sr.; two sons, John Henry Westmoreland, Jr. and Marvin Westmoreland; four grandsons, Brandon and Brian Davis, Tyler Westmoreland and Nicolas Roberts; her siblings, Charety Thomas, Robert Thomas, William Thomas, Roseco Thomas, Webber Thomas Jr, Jessie Mae Kinchen, Lella Anthony, Ronetta Boyd and daughter-in-law, Velda Westmoreland.
Our beloved mother Louise leaves to cherish her memories: Her daughter, Deborah Westmoreland - Franklin; son, William Kinchen (who she raised like her own); ten grand-children, eighteen great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Maurice Harrell; daughters-in-law, Brenda Westmoreland, April Robertson Kinchen and Jankiema Westmoreland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her spiritual family. Louise will be missed by many.
