On January 31, 1930, the sun shined a little brighter as Margaret Mae was welcomed into this world. Born to Annie Mae Moore and Ester Gross, in Winona, MS, she was the eldest of Annie Mae’s seven children.
With the desire for a better life, Margaret moved out Mississippi, making a stop in St. Louis before eventually settling in Chicago, IL. She spent several years working at a candy factory before settling on her long-term job as a caregiver. Margaret enjoyed caring for others and often expressed it by baking her famous pound cakes or preparing her favorite Friday meal of fish and spaghetti. She also loved being around her younger family members because they kept her young!!!
On November 15, 2024, The Lord said to our angel “Your time here is no more” … and Margaret went on to gain her wings.
She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband: Janora Burks; Sister: Belzora George; Brothers: Matthew McCoy, Harvey Lee McCoy, L.B. McCoy, Jr., Charles McCoy and Benny Fred Gross; Special Niece: Juanita Lee.
