Rosie Lee Dugar was born October 1st, 1935 to Thomas and Mary McClendon in Lula, Mississippi. She is the sixth child of eleven sisters and brothers; Felix, Martha, Sidney, Julia, James, William, Jennie, Robert, Mary and Nellie. She was raised in a spiritual and loving home. Rosie accepted Christ at an early age and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and also attended Lula Public School. Rosie entered into matrimony with Arthur S. Dugar and later moved to Chicago with the McClendon family. Her husband Arthur preceded her in death. Rosie was a devoted wife and loving mother, a talented seamstress and also crafted many of her own garments. Rosie and Arthur had eight children, seven of whom she leaves to cherish her memory and one whom she’s joining in heaven; Ruthie, Arthur Jr., Carolyn (deceased) Glenda, Derrick, Gregory, Maurice and Felicia, all residing in either Skokie or Chicago, IL. Rosie leaves 16 grandchildren, 24 great -great -grandchildren, 3 great -great -great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, along with other loving relatives and friends. Needless to say, she will be missed by many. Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, echoing the depth of her impact on the lives she touched. Though her physical presence may no longer grace our lives, the imprint she left behind will endure, serving as a testament to the profound love and admiration she inspired in so many.
