On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Shawn Vincent Stroger (51), a loving son, father, partner, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away. Losing Shawn was completely unexpected and his family is deeply saddened.
Shawn was born on July 10, 1972 to John Sr. and Barbara Stroger in Chicago, Illinois. He was the second eldest of six children. Shawn attended Henry Nash Grammar School, Foreman High School and Orr High School. Shawn worked at Vitners for many years and later worked with his brothers.
Shawn was known as “Big Fella” to many. He loved playing Dominoes, Spades and Bid Whist. He deeply loved his family and Shawn had a warm spirit, a contagious smile and a loving heart. Whenever he visited or called his family, it always ended in “I love you”. All of us will truly miss hearing those words for now.

Louis, Khala, Louis, Sariah, Louis, Tiara, Jimmie Jr, Jonathan, Bobby,Brayden, Garrett, Ethan, Corrie Jr., Carolyn, Christian, Caleb, Cayden,Amilah, Casey and Chelsea; and a host of cousins and friends.
Shawn was also an honorary father figure to Lea, Laila, Lauren, Icesis,
Talayah, Tiyanti and Tommie.
