Sheila Wilson

Sheila L. Wilson was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 18, 1945, to Jeannette Reva Simpson Buck and William Joseph Buck. Sheila attended Dunbar Vocational Career Academy (formerly known as Dunbar High School).

Sheila began working at Johnson & Johnson at an early age, and it was while working there in 1980 that she met the love of her life, Darryl Wilson. It is rare to find two people more perfectly matched than Darryl and Sheila, whom he affectionately called “Sheesh.” Over the next 44 years, they shared a love of traveling – especially to Disney World – taking road trips, visiting casinos, watching classic movies and sports, and spending time with family and friends.

Following her time at Johnson & Johnson, Sheila continued her professional journey at the YMCA of the USA in the Finance Department where she worked diligently until her well-earned retirement.

Sheila was a bright light, packed with energy, humor, and a joyful, fun-loving spirit. She loved taking care of her husband and giving to charities, and was a faithful supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Sheila was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

She is preceded in death by: Her parents, Jeannette and William Buck; and one brother, William Buck, Jr.

She leaves to mourn her passing: Her loving husband, Darryl A. Wilson; her daughter, Renee C. Young; one brother, Edgar (Dorothy) Buck; one grand-daughter, Brittany R. Young; her mother-in-law, Vera J. Wilson; sisters-in-law, Karen (Walter) Hawkins and Reva J. Wilson; one nephew, Edgar (Michelle) Buck, Jr.; one niece, Tonya Moran, and many other cherished family members and friends.
